making things: it’s what artists do. we build it. then destroy it. we make room for the new. we bring the past with us. we carve the future. we light the path then hide it from ourselves. there is no right way. perfection doesn’t exist. we keep our circle small. we force change by speaking it into existence. we battle the cynics with beauty. empathy drives us. awareness forces our hand to speak it. we see reality in the mirror but the dream is in a raindrop on our shoulders. we create entire worlds to live in. why would we listen to them?
